    Our History

Africa Parts Group was originally established in 1948 under the name of Control Instruments and focussed on the distribution of Instrumentation and Tachographs. During 2007 Control Instruments made several acquisitions which included Gabriel, ACSA-Mag, Mag Brakes, Autocom and Echlin to position itself as a significant player in the Automotive Aftermarket.

During 2014 Control Instruments was acquired by Torre Industries, a JSE listed business and renamed to Torre Automotive. Further acquisitions during the next few years, saw Torre Automotive acquire Top Class, Traxx SA, Meter Systems and Pneumax South Africa, positioning itself as a diversified parts group, and renamed the business Torre Parts & Components. The Torre Industries Group then de-listed from the JSE in 2019, and the management team decided to take the business private though a leveraged management buyout.

The group was then renamed to Africa Parts Group.

Today, Africa Parts Group is an Brand Distribution House with three divisions, operating in the Automotive, Commercial and Industrial market segments, and our purpose is to Keep Africa Moving.
